Flameaway notched his sixth winner from his first crop on Monday afternoon at Ellis Park when Blue Eyed George strode home by nearly two lengths in a one-mile maiden special weight turf race for 2-year-old colts.
With six winners, Flameaway ranks second on the First-Crop list and is one of only two sires on the list with a black type winner.
Blue Eyed George was midpack for the first five furlongs before launching a wide bid on the final bend. He stormed to the lead in upper stretch and drew clear late to win by 1 ¾-lengths.
The winner is owned by BG Stables and was bred by Clear Creek Stud LLC. The bay colt is out of graded stakes winner Acting Naughty, who is also dam of multiple graded stakes winner Offlee Naughty.
